

Judith “Judy” Ann Meyers, 66, passed away on Sunday evening, June 11, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born to Charles Eugene and Jerolyn Manring in Kokomo on September 16, 1950. Judy married her husband, John Meyers, on May 16, 1970.
Judy kept very busy during her life. She was a Sunday School teacher at Kokomo Church of Christ/Judson Road Christian Church for 22 years, and also served as the church secretary for 11 years. Judy was very much a part of her church home. She enjoyed traveling, visiting Daytona every February, climbing lighthouses, and going to the beach. Judy enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She used her skills to run an online store, HappyCat Boutique, selling pillowcase dresses, superhero capes, aprons, and more. She also founded Hatdannas by Happycat, a shop that specialized in chemo caps for cancer patients. She started this store with her three daughters after her sister was diagnosed with cancer.
Judy is survived by her husband, John Meyers; daughters Melody (Randy) Smith, Monica (Ron) Nelson, and Melissa (Ryan) Phillips; sister Deborah (Kenny) Hehr; and grandchildren Mackenzie Smith, Madison Smith, Aidin Gooch, Cade Gooch, Devin (Taylor) Huffer, Gabriel Phillips, Mikayla Phillips, and Logan Phillips.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Jerolyn, and grandparents Belva and Horace Pearcy, and Laurence and Esther Manring.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16, at 10:00 a.m., also at the mortuary.
