Judy A Sand

Judith A. "Judy" Sand, age 65, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Judy was born October 29, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Frank Giannakos and Catherine (Becker) Giannakos, who survives. She married Roger Sand on July 11, 1981 in Kokomo, and he survives. Judy lived a beautiful life filled with family and friends with whom she enjoyed traveling, music, beach time, reading, gambling, and lots of chocolate cake and ice cream. Her love of children and law and order translated into a career spent, first, as a juvenile probation officer, and second, as a school counselor at Western School Corporation. Surviving is her loving husband of 41 years, Roger; daughters, Leah Sand and Melanie (Daniel) Sand-Fleischman; stepson, Scott (Rachel) Sand; three grandchildren, John, Nathan, and Ivy; sister, Carrie Giannakos; mother, Catherine Giannakos; and loving family. She will also be missed by her beloved dogs. Preceded in death is her father, Frank Giannakos. There will be a time of visitation for Judy on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Rev. Fr. Elliot Zak will be officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Judy's memory to Kokomo Humane Society, envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
