Larry loved spending time outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, or his favorite pastime...golfing. He was huge fan of Notre Dame even though his wife, Nancy, was rooting for the opposing team. He attended numerous baseball games with his family, he took advantage of spending as much time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren as he could. He was a family man. He taught his daughters that if you want something done then you learn how to do it yourself. He had a wealth of knowledge when it came to electrical work that was self-taught for the most part. Larry worked at Delco Electronics until his retirement in September of 1991. He was a member of the Local UAW 292 and a previous member of the Elwood Elks along with the American Legion Post 6. Holidays were his favorite; he loved getting his family together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He kept his TV on the Hallmark channel all winter long. He had a great sense of humor always telling off-color jokes. He was witty and quick with a response.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hill; his daughters Jackie Branch (Scott) and Michele Peña (Luis); his siblings Kenneth Hill (Diane), Theresa Tapscott (Don) and Michael "Mikey" Hill (Leslie); his grandchildren Ashley Wolf (Kim), Joey Branch (Tina), Kaile LaRue (Latiesha), Karah Sughrue (Tim), Kassy Peña (Cole Bass), LJ Peña, and Curtis "Quister" Peña; many great grandchildren; his nieces Kelly Ackerman (Chad) and Shanel Bass; his nephews Jeremiah Jaecques (Jynna) and Dean Hill (Missy); and his sister-in-law Pam Forston (Bob).
In addition to his parents Larry is preceded in death by his granddaughter Reyna Peña, his nephew Kyle Forston, and his niece Shannon Brock.
There will be a private Celebration of Life.
