Larry Joe Newton

Larry Joe Newton, 59, of Kokomo passed away at 10:25 AM Monday July 1, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by family. Born October 21, 1959 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Richard Lee Newton and Barbara (Waters) Newton. He was a 1978 graduate of Kokomo High School. On March 31, 1995 he married Deanna Lynn (Isaac), and she survives. He currently owned and operated Economy Glass for the past 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, scratching lottery tickets, gardening, yard work with his grandchildren, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge of Kokomo and Faith United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of over 24 years Deanna Lynn Newton of Kokomo; three daughters Samantha (James) Tolley-Branch, Chelsea (Jordan) Reed and Ashley (Nathan Vent) Newton, all of Kokomo; his step-mother Susan Newton of North Carolina; three brothers Jeff (Chris) Newton of Kokomo, Rick (Missy) Newton of Kokomo, and Daniel (Chrysse) Newton of Louisiana; two sisters Susan (Bobby) Davis of Frankfort and Sarah (Raul) Ramirez of North Carolina. There are also five grandchildren who know him as the best papaw ever, Gavin, Cainan, Cameron, Elliana and Malachi; also several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his granddog Miley. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Darin Newton. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Pastor Jeff Newton will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to Angels for Kids, with envelopes available at the mortuary.
