

Louise Salmons, 89, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born November 9, 1920, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Paul C. and Mildred F. (Michael) Weida. On March 8, 1944, she married B.D. “Bus” Salmons, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1985.
She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1938 and worked for Indiana Bell Telephone during WWII. She later worked as a switch board operator for Haynes Stellite, retiring in 1985.
Survivors include two children, Joyce A. (Michael) Cameron, Hobe Sound, Florida, and Steven L. (Ruth) Salmons, Kokomo, Indiana; four grandchildren, Beth Cameron, Lexington, South Carolina, Debbie Rish, Leesville, South Carolina, Matt (Amanda) Salmons, Randleman, North Carolina, and Jennifer Butcher, Kokomo; four great-grandchildren, Robbie (Jaraka) Rish, Chase Butcher, Kaylee Butcher, and Thomas Salmons; one great-great-grandchild, Colin Rish; one brother, Edwin (Pauline) Weida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Peggy Weida.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5th, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Carmichael and Pastor Keith Treadway officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4th, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, March 5th, at the funeral home.
