Margaret Ophelia Conwell

Margaret was born on August 9th, 1920, in Clinton, IL to the late Simeon and Jenny Allison (Taylor).

Margaret married Herbert I. Conwell on March 31st, 1938. He died March 5th, 1997.

She retired in October 1980 from Delco Electronics after 28 years.

Her memberships included Joy Fellowship of St. Lukes United Methodist Church, the Del Ray Club, and she volunteered at Americana Health Care Center and the Howard Community Cheer Guild. She was also a member of the Local U.A.W. 292 Hobby Club and Retiree’s where she won ribbons for her doilies and Afghans. She was also a great cook and enjoyed baking and candy making.

She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1931 and Huffers Beauty College in 1968.

She is survived by son, Jerry (Mary Lynn) Conwell of Galveston; two grandsons Blaine (Marla) Conwell of Walton and Scott (Barbie) Conwell of Galveston; five great grandchildren Kitty Lynn of Walton, Matthew, Cameron, Gracie Lynn, and Andrew Conwell of Galveston; two step-great grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Ely of Logansport and Sean McNulty of Texas; four step great-great grandchildren, Peyton, Rylee, Kyndra, and Dylan Ely.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Harold and Carl Allison, sisters Hazel Stokes and Geneva Taylor and a great-granddaughter, Stephanie.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St Lukes United Methodist Church (700 E Southway Blvd, Kokomo, IN 46902)or a charity of your choice.

Services will be held Thursday October 12th, 2017 at 12:00pm at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel with visitation one hour prior with Reverend Riley Case officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
