Margaret Newell

Margaret J. Newell went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2014 at 12:37 a.m. at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo Indiana. She was born June 4, 1926, in Royal Center, to the late James and Josephine Harvey. Margaret was married to Donnell R. Newell on August 12, 1944, and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2006.

Margaret graduated from Royal Center High School in 1944. She was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She loved playing cards, bowling, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra J. and Gregory A. McDorman; son, Larry D. and Marilyn Newell; son, Ronald W. and Louise Newell; daughter, Kathy J. and David Burress, all of Kokomo; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Stephanie, Amy, Angie, Jennifer, Cindi, Robbie & Vickie; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Crippen, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, three brothers, and two grandsons, Rodney and Jake.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Janet Kelley officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
