Marilyn Louise Quinnette Blacklidge Carmichael of Kokomo, Indiana, (September 19, 1938, September 22, 2023) passed peacefully in her sleep. Until the last couple of years, Marilyn was youthful, vibrant, and filled with so much energy and zest for life that many people found it difficult to keep up with her. Marilyn enjoyed community service and was very active in PEO chapters located in San Diego and Kokomo. Marilyn, or "Nana" as her grandchildren lovingly referred to her, was the very definition of strength and dignity even when facing life's most challenging times. Those who knew her best witnessed her gift for making the world and everything in it more beautiful - whether it was her big heart, her gift for kindness and friendship, or her talents as an interior designer - she always left you feeling better for having been around her. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Her greatest pride was as a devoted mother to Dawn Blacklidge of Pahoa, HI; Jill (and Steve) Glover of Lighthouse Point, FL; Doug (and Tori) Blacklidge of Zionsville, IN; and Mark (and Lisa) Blacklidge of Kokomo, IN. Marilyn was proceeded in death by her son Mark Blacklidge (March 2023). She was also proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years William “Bill” Carmichael (August 2023). Also, left to mourn are her stepdaughters, Ann and Abbe and their children. Marilyn leaves behind her grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Aubrey (and spouse Adam Ferrando with their children, Amelia and Archer), Zachary Glover; Makenna and Macie Blacklidge; and Kelcie and Linsey Blacklidge. Marilyn was a daughter, a wife, a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. To those who were fortunate enough to know her, her passing is a loss that cannot be filled. Services will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery October 26th, 2023. Visitation will be from 3:30pm-4:30pm and the service will follow at 4:30pm in the Chapel.
