Mary Shirley Brennan

Mary “Shirley” Brennan, Kokomo, was called Home to Heaven on January 23, 2019 after a long and fulfilling life at the age of 97. She was born on November 19, 1921, in Windsor, Ontario Canada. Shirley graduated from Nursing School in 1943 and was proud to be a nurse at the Kokomo Chrysler plant for over 17 years. She gained her U.S. citizenship in 1981 and was a devout Catholic throughout her life, giving her family confidence and peace that she is now resting with Jesus. Shirley is survived by brother John Hanrahan; Children, Thomas Brennan, Jane (Steve) Baker, Mary Brennan, Mike Brennan, Julie (Mike) McCool, and Sara Leonard. Grandchildren Michael McCool, Mary Graham, Katie Thatcher, Clare Schell, Sara Diehl, Mary Leonard and Joey Leonard; nine Great- Grandchildren with one in the way. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, parents, and two sisters. The family is full of gratitude and thanksgiving for the staff at the Wellbrooke Center in Kokomo. Also, for the comfort care of Southerncare Hospice given to their Mother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 North Washington Street, Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Brian Dudzinski the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of the Poor Clares.
