Phyllis Faith Peterson

Phyllis Faith Peterson, 83, of Kokomo, went to be with the LORD at 4:00 AM Saturday October 28, 2017 from Legacy at Waterford Place. Faith was born on February 9, 1934 in Brockton, Massachusetts to John Daniel Berthal Baptist Doyle and Lillian Chesley (Weatherbee) Doyle. On June 19, 1953, in Brockton, MA, she married Robert Walter Peterson. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2016. She was a homemaker and a member of Center Road Church of Christ. She was a talented seamstress; she also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crafts and traveling. She lived in Brockton, MA, Centerville, MA (on Cape Cod), and Kokomo, IN.

Survivors include - two sons: Robert Walter (Darla) Peterson Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Thomas Alton (Bonny) Peterson of Kokomo; three daughters: Cheryl Ann (Loren) Wheat of Merkel, Texas, Gail Ellen Hummel of Keene, New Hampshire, and Amy Faith (Carl) Hance of Carrollton, Texas; one sister: Joan Woodmancy. There are fourteen grandchildren Emily (Clint) McKnight, Erin (Justin) Cornell, Caleb (Gabrielle) Peterson, Christa (Christopher) Holland, Gwendolyn Hummel, Alexander Hummel, Genevieve Hummel, Gillian Hummel, Kayla Ballew, Andrew (Karissa) Brock, Adam (BryAnna) Brock, Molly Peterson, Mindy Peterson, and Jeremy Peterson. There are also 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Lois (Lovelay) Patev.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Saturday November 4, 2017 at Center Road Church of Christ, 899 W. 300 South, Kokomo. Burial of cremains will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Massachusetts at a later date. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
