

Raymond Vernon Ham, Jr., 91, Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at St. Vincent Kokomo. He was born June 5, 1924, in Kokomo, to Raymond V. and Bonnie (Aubrey) Ham. On February 8, 1946, he married Velda V. (Templin) Ham, and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2007.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and later worked at Delco until his retirement in 1980. He was blessed to have a very good life. He loved golfing and fishing and cherished spending time with his dad. He also enjoyed feeding squirrels, even going as far as growing tomatoes just for them. He was an animal lover at heart and especially loved his dog, Knekae and Magic, whom he greatly missed. He was a 72 year member of the VFW joining in 1943, a 67 year member of the Masons joining in 1948, and a 69 year member of the Isaac Walton League Association joining in 1946. He was also a member of the Shriners and the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Horback and husband Tom, and Judith Canady and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Jeremy Stout, Nicholas Campbell and wife Sara, and Christopher Campbell and wife Della; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Stout, Pyke Stout, Maya Collins, Alexander Campbell, Maddyx Campbell, and Emily Roberts and husband Jeremy; great-great-grandchild, Mearl Roberts; brother, James Ham; sister, Betty Maddox; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion.
