

Robert Allen Boyd, 71, Kokomo, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015, in Pinellas Park, Florida. He was born September 21, 1943, in Evansville, to John and Frances (Pickett) Boyd. On May 9, 1969, he married Cheryl (Adams) Boyd, and she survives.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1962 and the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He attended the US Naval Academy and graduated from Indiana University. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for twenty years, retiring in 1999, and as a foreman at Chrysler for eleven years. He was a member of Woodland Church of God and a former member and president of the Kokomo Stamp Club. He owned Bob’s Stamps and was a collector and dealer of postage stamps.
Bob loved to travel and spent six months a year in Clearwater, Florida. He has been to all 50 states and 23 countries. Bob loved to play golf, games and cards with his friends. He was an avid Colts and IU fan. He loved fixing breakfast for his grandkids and great nieces and nephews. Bob has been an active member of the Church of God for over 40 years and a devout Christian.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, he is survived by his daughter, Paige (Josh) Martin, Greenwood; two grandchildren, Morgan and Ella Martin; one sister, Katherine (TJ) Kriuda, Mt. Vernon, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Walt (Carolyn) Adams, Kokomo, and Brian (Dawn) Adams, Russiaville; two sisters-in-law, Quinna (Jeff) Adams, Kokomo ,and Mona (Steve) Nedrow, Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Allen Boyd; and mother and father-in-law, Walter and Marie Adams.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Church of God, 3401 S. Webster St., Kokomo, IN 46902, with Pastor Michael Alley officiating. Entombment will take place in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
