Robert L Preston

Robert L. Preston, 80, of Kokomo passed away at 9:49 AM Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Northwoods Village, Kokomo. Born July 29, 1937 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Walter and Marcella Preston. On September 17, 1955 he married Marilyn (Deardorff), who preceded him in death on February 20, 2016. He was employed with Cuneo Press for 23 years and was president of the packers union while there; then was owner of a car lot and the Miracle Shield Company. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, going to the casino, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons Danny (Patricia) Preston of Kokomo, Steve (Cathie) Preston of Lafayette; one daughter Lisa (Joe) Fording of Kokomo; grandchildren Ryan (Patricia) Fording, Joshua (Ashleigh) Fording, Derek (Shelley) Preston, Lindsey (Robbie) Miller, Morgan Preston, and Collin Barnett. There are also 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday June 10, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Minister Scott Butzin will officiate. Burial will follow at Mast-Hensler Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM Sunday at the mortuary.
