Roger Grey Sutherland

Roger Grey Sutherland, 74, of Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 peacefully at home. He was born June 12, 1944 to the late Ralph Sr. and Edith (Webb) Sutherland in Pulaski, VA. Roger married Yvonne (Owens) Sutherland March 19, 1988 in Lincoln Park, MI. She survives him.
He graduated from Pulaski County High School with the class of 1962. Roger went to Holmes Bible College in South Carolina from 1963 to 1964. That is when he began his journey, and his love to minister others. He pastored in five different churches and retired from Life Abundant Church, which he built. Roger enjoyed watching North Carolina Tar Heels basketball. He adored his dog "Buddy", was a scholar of the Bible, and loved southern gospel music. Roger was especially fond of hearing his wife, Yvonne, sing and play the piano. He loved attending Bethel Tabernacle Church of God and hearing Pastor Steve preach. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Surviving Roger are his wife, Yvonne, daughter Christie and her husband Todd Heerschop, granddaughter Brianna Taylor, brother Art and a sister, Hope.
Those who have passed before him are his parents and his two brothers, Ralph Jr. and David Sutherland.
Services for Roger will take place Friday February 8, 2019 at Bethel Tabernacle Church of God; 661 W 400 S. Kokomo Indiana at 2:00pm. Friends may gather from 1pm to 2pm prior to the service.
