

Ronald DePoy, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2017 in Kokomo while surrounded by his loving family. Ronald was born on November 2, 1940 in Winamac, Indiana to the late Harry Jay and Bernice Kay (Paulsen) DePoy.
After high school, Ronald attended Purdue University and went on to work at the Chrysler plant in Kokomo for 36 years before retiring as a supervisor in 2000. He was also part of the Kokomo Underwater Recovery Unit. Ronald is survived by his wife, Linda Dieselberg, whom he married on December 16, 1994.
Ronald was a member of the Eagles Lodge and was a Scottish Right Mason. He also belonged to the Methodist Church in Winamac, Indiana. In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed reconditioning and restoring Model T Fords and collecting model trains. He was an avid Indy Car and NASCAR fan and attended many racing events. From 1964 to 1968, Ronald was a Golden Gloves Boxing champion in Muncie, Indiana.
In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by his sons, Andrew Jay (Teresa) DePoy, David (Danea) Dieselberg, and Douglas (Pam) Dieselberg; daughters, Kenlyn (Jeff) Watson, Teri Froelicher, and Kym Dieselberg; and brothers, DeWayne (Betty) DePoy, and Dale (Melanie) DePoy. Ronald also leaves 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
There was a private family service for Ronald held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, followed by entombment at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Contributions in Ronald’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
