Ronald Eugene Lyon

Ron Lyon, 72, passed away on September 18th, 2022. He will be greatly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Ron was a 1968 graduate of Kokomo High School. His distinguished career started at Chrysler, where he worked for 16 years and was recognzied for work excellence. He then graduated from Marion college with a degree in business administration before working for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in 1986. Always an enthusiastic teacher and mentor, he taught Zig Ziglar’s “See You At The Top” motivational course to over 300 EDS/GM Employees throughout his time with EDS. In addition to teaching, he was a PC tech, business analyst, database and system administrator, and manager. Towards the end of his career, he worked for the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA) in the role of IT Director. While there, he had the pleasure of meeting such personalities as Walter Cronkite, Queen Noor, and Benjamin Netanyahu. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Nora (Reeves) Lyon, and his brother Jerry Lee Lyon. He is survived by his wife Mary (McNally) Lyon, his children Lesley (Ken) Jessen and Kelly (Brook) Lyon, and his grandchildren Avery, Tyler, and Emma Jessen. Ron was a treasured husband, father, and grandpa. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing card games, gardening, woodworking, NASCAR, and collecting movies. His sense of humor and infectious laughter will be missed by all. A funeral service for Ron will be Saturday September 24, 2022 1:00pm at Ellers Mortuary 3400 S. Webster St. Kokomo with visitation from 11:00am until time of service. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park.
