Obituary of Ronald "Ron" William Pierson
Ronald “Ron” Pierson, 84, of Kokomo passed away Friday, September 7, 2018. He was born June 18, 1934 in Booneville, Kentucky to Augustus and Martha (Herald) Pierson. Ron grew up on a tobacco and sugar cane farm in Kentucky, where he learned to love the land. In April of 1956 he enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served our country for 4 years as an aircraft technician. He and his wife Patricia spent time in many different places before calling Kokomo their home. Ron found a job with Chrysler and worked for them as an electrician for more than 20 years, retiring from there. Always one to keep busy, he worked many jobs over the years from working in a lamp store, to owning a painting business and then as an electrician; he truly was a jack of all trades. Ron enjoyed traveling around to the local casinos, here and in Michigan and Florida where he was pretty lucky at craps. He was a jokester and loved to make others laugh along with him. He enjoyed going and visiting with family and playing his guitar. His smile lit up any room he was in and he will be greatly missed. Ron is survived by children, Rhonda Baker, Kim (Curtis) Fain, Randall “Randy” (Donna) Pierson and Bernadine “Deana” Pierson; half-brothers, Johnny and Mark Pierson; grandchildren, Randall, Ronald, Donald, Allison, Derrick and Crystal; great-grandchildren, Mariah, Alec, Kyrstin, Kenzie and Kryslynd; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia and his sister Jean Boyer. Family will welcome friends Thursday, September 13 from 4-8pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo 46902. Service is Friday, September 14 at 10am, also at Sunset Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
