Obituary of Roy William Floyd
Reverend Roy William Floyd, 83, of Kokomo passed away at 1:27 AM Friday October 5, 2018 at his residence. Born August 10, 1935 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late John W. Floyd and Nellie F. (Michael) Floyd.On September 13, 2004 in Sevierville, TN he married Patsy (Nelson) Harris, and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was employed at Haynes International for 12 years, then went on to Chrysler for 28 years. He enjoyed metal detecting, playing the guitar and singing, going to camp meetings, preaching at revivals, and was in the group The Country Crusaders. Survivors include his wife Patsy Floyd of Kokomo; one son Mark Anthony (Brenda) Floyd of Kokomo two step-daughters Lori Harris of Kokomo, Myrna (Kenny) Couch of Milton, KY; one step-son Chuck Ingram of Jonesboro, IN; one brother Glen E. Floyd of Kokomo; one sister Edith B. Longworth of Etowah, TN; grandchildren Tyler Floyd, Tiffany Floyd, Lacey Corn, Julie Hunter; step-grandchildren Jessica Espinoza (Juan), and John (Cari) Houston. There are also many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Those who have preceded Roy in death is his wife Donna Jean (Duncan) Floyd of 43 years, son Travis Daniel Floyd, brothers Harold, Kenneth, Eugene, Marvin, Cecil and Herbert Floyd, and sister Margaret E. Benson. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday October 11, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastors Glen Waltman and Christine Young will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
