

Ruth graduated from Kokomo High School and was married to Kermit W. Hollingsworth for 68 years at the time of his death in 2003. She formerly resided in Galveston, Indiana and in Placida, Florida prior to returning to Kokomo after the death of her husband.
She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother who always encouraged her children to do their best. She liked to travel and especially enjoyed natural scenic areas. She enjoyed exploring and fishing the inland bays and estuaries off the Gulf of Mexico while living in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Roberta (Edward) Dawson of Jacksonville, Florida, Pamela (Douglas) Myers of Galveston, Indiana, and Paula (Ronnald) Name of Hartford City, Indiana; son, Rodger Hollingsworth of Kokomo, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Galveston United Methodist Church, 515 S. Maple St., Galveston, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Ruth’s memory by doing something nice for someone in need.
The family will be forever grateful for the tender, loving care provided to our mother by her friends, Heather and Neva, Dr. Westrom, the wonderful staff at Sterling House, and the ladies from Southern Care.
