IN THE CARE OF
Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center
Vickie Lynn Calvert, 79, lovingly known as Gram by her family and friends, passed away on February 9th, 2019. Vickie was born to Frank and Mary Pierce on February 8th, 1940 in Kokomo.
She was a beautiful and fiercely independent woman, and a source of strength to all who knew and loved her. Vickie loved her family with all her being, often shown in complaints about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren not wearing their coats, eating a full breakfast, or getting enough sleep.
Gram enjoyed her quiet mornings with a cup of coffee and the local news, and her equally quiet evenings reading a book or watching wheel of fortune. What she enjoyed most of all were the loud and hectic days with her great-grandchildren, who filled her life with joy and a sense of purpose.
Vickie is survived by her 2 grandchildren, Sara (Bob Roesner) Calvert and James (Jessica) Calvert, and 3 great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Makayla, and Alyvia Calvert.
Vickie is preceded in passing by her parents; daughter Carla Calvert; and sons Morris Calvert and Michael Pierce.
A memorial wake will be held on Saturday, February 16th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Milwaukee Iron Clubhouse, 111 East Monroe Street, Kokomo, IN 46901.
