Obituary of Virginia Alice Ebert

Virginia Alice Ebert, 88, of Kokomo, passed away at 10:39 AM Sunday August 11, 2019 at Bloom of Kokomo. Born December 14, 1930 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Hershel Shepherd and Opal (Snow) Shepherd. She was a 1948 graduate of New London High School. On August 15, 1948 she married the love of her life Harry K. Ebert. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1984. She was a telephone operator for Indiana Bell, Howard Community for 12 years and EDS of Delco before retiring in 1995. She was involved with TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly), was a member of Morning Star Church where she had been treasurer and very active in the church. Survivors include three sons Raymond (Cynthia) Ebert of Indianapolis, Larry (Teresa) Ebert and Jeffrey (Jean) Ebert, both of Kokomo; two sisters Jan Campbell and Nancy Hoffmeister, both of Tennessee; four grandchildren Melody, Jonathon, Angela, and Ross; five great grandchildren Allison, Mathew, Seth, Alyssa and Gage. There are also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two infant daughters Teresa Diane Ebert and Janet Elaine Ebert; five brothers Jack, Donald, Paul, Tom and Richard Shepherd; three sisters Norma Snyder, Rachael Pate and Mary Ellen Glass. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday August 15, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Micah Powless will officiate. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday at the mortuary.
