Born to Waid Sr. and Bea Hornbuckle on November 4, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty J. Wood on December 30, 1963.
Waid graduated from Kokomo High in 1961. He worked and retired from the Kokomo Postal Service. Waid loved life and enjoyed many hobbies including playing poker, pool, bowling, golf, fishing, making pottery, wood working, and working with the bobcat; along with many other activities. He also took great pleasure in being a good neighbor and friend to everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Wayne (Angie Scott) Hornbuckle, and Shane Hornbuckle; grandchildren, Jennifer (Cory) Landis, and Leah Hornbuckle; great grandchild, Braxton Landis; and siblings, Jenette Young, Michael (Kim) Hornbuckle, Patsy Butcher, and Lisa Ford.
In addition to his parents, Waid was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Nava.
There will be a public visitation for Waid held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Friday, June 21st from 11-1, followed immediately by a funeral service. Waid will then be laid to rest at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
