Wanda F Rush

Wanda F Rush, was 85, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on September 5, 2022 at home. Wanda was born to Tom and Opal (Shope) Ragan, on May 4, 1937 in Prairie Township, Tipton County. She graduated in 1955 from Sharpsville High School. Wanda worked at Rapps Shoes & Clothing Store, and then in 1966 Delco Electronic until she retired in 1997.

Wanda married Garland Rush in 1961, who survives. Besides her husband, she has a daughter, Mary Rush, and 3 step sons, Terry Rush, Steve Rush, and Kenneth Rush; a sister, Maude Ragan; a sister in-law, Rosaline Ragan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Allan Rush; her parents; brothers Carl (Bob) Ragan, Lawrence Ragan, Russell (Rut) Ragan, and Frank Ragan; a granddaughter, and two nephews.

Before and after her retirement from GM, she worked for Kokomo High School as a ticket taker at their sporting events. She really enjoyed visiting with all of the kids who came in her door. She also enjoyed crocheting and going to bluegrass festivals and live music with her husband and visiting with all the friends she met at the jam sessions.

Visitation for Wanda will be from 10am-1pm on Tuesday, September 13th at Ellers Mortuary Webster St Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Steve Sherwood officiating.

Wanda will be laid to rest next to her son at Sharpsville Cemetery.
