Waneta Jean Conwell, 89, Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010. She was born May 21, 1921, in Howard County, to John F. and Mary (Locke) Yager. On June 20, 1942, she married Harold L. Conwell, and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2002.
She worked at the Courthouse and at Delco for many years. She and he her husband loved to travel, and she was a very active volunteer at Bona Vista. She was a member of First Christian Church in Kokomo.
She is survives by one daughter, Mary Lou Conwell, Kokomo; one brother, John Yager, Kokomo; one brother-in-law, Richard (Vera) Conwell; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Linda Swope.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Allen officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church or Bona Vista.
