William A. Brede Jr.

William “Eli” A. Brede Jr. an US Marine veteran of the Korean War passed away at Garden Island Health Care Center on January 16, 2021 at the age of 86.

Born on August 14, 1934 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was a manager for Big Three Industry.

He is preceded in death by parents: Julia & William Brede Sr., first wife: Juliette Brede, sister: Julia “Ulu” Kauwe. Brother: Paul Brede Sr. Sons: William Brede III, Gilmath Brede, and daughter Debbie Balai

He is survived by wife Helen Kon Brede. Brother: Lono (Laverne) Brede, daughter: Julieann “Tweety” (Gilbert) Balai, son: Shane (Sue) Brede, sisters Mary (Ben) Aranio, Hazel Aki, 4 step daughters Helen (Bobby) “Sweetie” Azevedo, Maryalice “Momi” Furtado, Lavern Sa, and Leona (Robert) Sa-McDermott, 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday February 12, 2021 at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kapaa, with visitation at 10:00 A.M. and services at 11:00 A.M.

There will be a burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
