Beverly enjoyed life to the fullest and yet at time’s seemed so lonely after her husband’s passing.
She loved to travel and boy did she travel from Alaska to China and all of the USA, lower half of Canada, Europe and on and on…..she was able to travel with family members or friends, or alone and with different tour groups.
As young girl she went to school in Boise, ID., Where her parents owned a meat packing co. They traveled all of the North West to different cattle auctions with her parents. She then attended teen years in Las Vegas, NV., went to high school there, her parents owned a meat packing company there and delivered meat to the different hotels on the strip (back then was very small), she rode her horse where there are several hotels now. She watched the changes happened and enjoyed all of the excitement of the cities. Her parents then moved to Tucson AZ, where she attended college and met her husband Douglas Lyman, married and started a family of their own. Then moved to San Diego, CA
As an adult she had many exciting jobs, she sold real estate, Beeline clothing, worked at (back then) Pacific Bell telephone co., sold Insurance for Mutual of Omaha, where she meet her second husband John LaFontaine.
The two of them went to Albuquerque, NM., to build homes and a beautiful chapel as General Contractors, eventually moved back to San Diego, she started working for Ferry Morris Seed Co. that allowed her to travel to different states and the best part was to see and enjoy her family from her parents side and took grandchildren to help along the way of check out season. They both retired and Bev went to work locally with her daughter as a tax preparer and as an assistant up until a few years ago.
Beverly had purchased a travel trailer which was out at her sons beautiful property in Arizona, where she felt safe secure and peaceful. She was able to stay for months at a time and loved it there.
Family was the most important part of her life from her parent’s side and from both marriages, she stayed in contact with all of them and loved each and everyone one of them as if they were her natural family.
She was a blessing to many whom she was in contact with and people never forgot her and her beautiful smile and her wisdom, she lived & loved life in full with no regrets.
