Bruce was born in a farming community in Aitkin, Minnesota. At a young age, Bruce sought adventure and traveled working on farms, including one where he met his beautiful wife Marjorie. Shortly after meeting Marjorie, he joined The United States Navy service branch of the armed forces. He proudly served his country during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War; eventually retiring as naval officer from the service after 28 years. Even in retirement, Bruce often would wear something that represented his service. Once Bruce retired from the US Navy, he ventured in Real Estate and Insurance. Bruce and Marjorie enjoyed 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2011.
Bruce loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. From fishing, camping, playing games or carving pumpkins, to creating events to get the family together almost every weekend, he clearly focused on family. In his private time, he enjoyed oil painting, listening to music, reading, including bible study as well his enduring fondness of the frontier stories of Louis L’Amour, and of course, watching his westerns.
He is survived by his four daughters, Barbara Tracey of Warren, PA, Mary Bennett (Jack) of San Marcos, CA, Marlys Jones (Mike) of Ramona, CA and Marsha Crosswhite (Jim) of Eugene, OR.
