Ronald Stanley Craig, 68, passed away on March 4, 2026, following a short illness. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on the 14th of June 1957 to Herbert and Marilyn Craig. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cynthia (Kathman) Craig, son Joshua (Livier) Craig and daughter Jordan Craig. Adored by all, he leaves behind four grandsons: Christian, Lukas, Samuel and Zachary, II; along with sisters Melissa (Robert) Bova and Gina Harmon and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Craig in 2022.
A carpenter by trade, Ron joined the union out of high school. It did not take long for him to realize he preferred being the “boss”, so he began his own business, R.S. Craig Industries. He could now showcase his incredible talent for building beautiful home additions and renovations to installing windows and doors and everything in between. In 2003, he relocated, with his family, to San Diego, California, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Outgoing and gregarious, he was often the life of the party. He was generous to a fault, a master cook, a decent softball pitcher, an above average darter, an ardent Bob Dylan fan, a card shark, an avid participant in “the fart game”, a Christmas Eve shopper, answered his phone “this is Ron” and grew the coolest mustaches. He was a gentle giant at 6 feet 5 inches.
Ron often ended his phone conversations with “You’re going to miss me when I’m gone.” He could not have been more correct.
Cheers to you, Old Man, till we meet again.
There will be a celebration of his life in Cincinnati, Ohio later this spring.
