Mrs. James was born May 15, 1927 in Tallassee, AL to the late Charlie David Aldridge and Nomie Bailey Aldridge. She was Pentecostal by faith and attended Northside Church of God. Annie worked for a number of years in the textile industry at Callaway Mills. She had a tender heart and was a caregiver for her parents and three of her aunts in their declining years. Annie enjoyed going fishing, preparing meals and playing Rummy, which she was known for being caught cheating at from time to time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Paul James.
Survivors include her son, Larry and Charlotte James; grandchildren, David James, Tammy and Shay Little, John Mason, and Valerie Edwards; great grandchildren, Ethan Little, Sara James and several others, sister, Jo and Jimmy Morris; brother, Cecil Aldridge; niece, Debbie Reese; nephews, Charles Morris and Jerry Morris; several other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm prior to the service. The Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Burial will follow in Hillview Annex.
