Carl B Stephens Jr.

Mr. Stephens was born December 31, 1922 in Oakland, GA, son of the late Carl Benard Stephens, Sr. and Lillian Bowles Stephens. He was employed with West Point Pepperell, Dixie Mill, and Callaway Mills, Elm City Plant, before retiring. Mr. Stephens was a member of the former United Congregational Christian Church and was active in the LaGrange Senior Citizens Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Alexander Stephens.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Stephens of Griffin; two sisters, Janie Worthy of Griffin and Nellie Henry of LaFayette, GA; three nieces, Gail Adams, Nancy Rodden, and Rebecca Butler; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron and Betty Howard and Larry and Nita Howard, all of Griffin.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 17, 2010 at Highland Methodist Church with Reverend Herb Flanders officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. in Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange, GA.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Highland Methodist Church.
