Charles Lee Bohannon

Charles Lee Bohannon entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 17, 2014. He loved the Lord and was a member of Old Pathway Baptist Church in LaGrange Georgia. He was born on December 22, 1939 in Shawmut, AL to Rev. Charles Frank Bohannon and Louise Langford Bohannon. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Charles Anthony Bohannon. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Mitchell Bohannon; and his mother, Louise Bohannon; two daughters, Carla Weber and Carmen Wilson; four grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and many beloved friends.

Charles attended West Point High School where his passion for baseball was enjoyed and he further pursued his love for the sport, as a pitcher for four years at Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville AL, where he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. He proudly served in the Army National Guard of Alabama and as a Reserve of the United States Army.

He worked for West Point Pepperell, Goodyear Inc, Industrial Supplies, and DAYCO until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, golf, high school and college football. He was an avid supporter of University of Alabama football and Jacksonville State University baseball.

The greeting of family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Friday April 18, 2014 between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 PM with funeral services on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Pastor Sam Mitchell and Rev. Chuck Anderson will officiate.
