Donna Brand

Donna Jean Maroni Brand, age 65, of LaGrange, GA passed away at WellStar West Georgia Hospice on March 17th, 2024. She was born in Athol, Massachusetts on January 28th, 1959, to Donald and Joanne Maroni. She was the eldest of 4 siblings.

Donna attended Athol Royalston Regional High School and graduated in 1977. Donna and her husband, Greg, and their 3 daughters relocated to LaGrange, GA in 1989.

Donna’s work life included serving others in the insurance field in Athol before joining West Georgia Medical Center in 1990. While there, her career began as a patient account representative. When the hospital restructured, she transferred to Florence Hand Home as an insurance specialist.

In addition to her busy work life, Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her personal relationships mattered the most to her. She enjoyed gardening, and many beach vacations with her family and friends. She led an active lifestyle and enjoyed walking, dancing, exercise class, yoga, Zumba and pickleball.

She is survived by her spouse, Greg Brand. Her children Melissa Lanier, Brady Varga, and Casey Warman. Her parents Donald and Joanne Maroni. Her siblings Gina Mansour and Noreen Maroni. Her son-in-laws Carey Lanier, Ryan Varga, and William Warman. Her grandchildren Luci and Luke Lanier and Greyson Varga.

A celebration of life will be held for Donna at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Athol High School Alumni Scholarship or the American Cancer Society.
