Effie Sego Smith

Mrs. Smith was born September 12, 1919 in Clay County, AL to the late Burt and Vera Sego. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and dedicated her life to the care of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Smith; sons, Charles Smith and Robert Smith; and granddaughter, Susan Estes.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Tammy Garcia and her husband John, Terry Smith and his wife Shelly, Becky Meeks, Katie Cofield and her husband Chris; daughter-in-law: Shirley Smith; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Max McCord officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, January 5, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Rosemont Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Effie Sego Smith.
