Frances Erin Upchurch

Mrs. Frances Erin Upchurch, 90, of LaGrange, GA died Friday, January 8, 2010 at West Georgia Medical Center.Mrs. Upchurch was born November 2, 1919 in Randolph County, AL, daughter of the late Eulous Erin Mostellar and Edith Lorine Earnest Mostellar. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where she was also a member of the Merry Makers and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Mrs. Upchurch was also a member of AARP and the Business Girls League. She had been employed with Kroger and was retired after 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sue Batten, a brother, Marvous Mostellar, and a brother-in-law, Rudy Vetter.Survivors include four children, Joanne (Kenneth) Holsombeck of Greenville, SC, Bob (Vivian) Upchurch, Alex Upchurch, and Arlene Upchurch all of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Todd Holsombeck of Falls Church, VA, Chad (Kristie) Holsombeck of Dacula, GA, Kenya Taylor of Greenville, SC, and Whitney Upchurch of Denver, CO; four great grandchildren, Gage Holsombeck, Logan Holsombeck, Grace Taylor, and Davis Taylor; sister, Reba M. Vetter of Missouri; sister-in-law, Kitzy Mostellar of Atlanta, GA; and brother-in-law, Bob (Mary Alice) Batten of Camden, SC.Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Paul Baxter and Reverend Michael Hornsby officiating.
