Gregory James Mize

Mr. Mize was born August 25, 1969 in LaGrange, son of Elaine Cummings Thompson and the late Bobby Gene Mize. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville, GA and was employed as an RF Engineer. Mr. Mize was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1988 to 1994, where he served in Operation Desert Storm. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. James and Florene Mize and Odis and Aline Cummings.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Elaine and Bill Thompson; sister, Bobbie Delin (Marty) Spears; two half sisters, Debra Wilkerson and Gayla (Everett) Miller; stepbrother, Billy Joe (Tiffany) Thompson, Jr.; eleven nieces and nephews; and eleven great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jimmy McMillian officiating. A private burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The family will be at the home of his mother and stepfather, Elaine and Bill Thompson, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
