James Jim Darden

Mr. Darden was born February 14, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Homer Clair Darden and Mary Mildred Priest Darden. He was employed with West Point Stevens as a Truck Driver until his retirement. After retirement, he drove for Industrial Transit until his health would no longer permit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Darden and Kenneth Patrick Darden.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth C. Darden; son, Kenneth and Cindy Darden; daughter, Teresa and Rodney Knott; grandchildren, Kaison Darden, Olivia Mitchell, Hunter Mitchell, Breanna Mitchell, Tabitha and Rob Smith, Jamie and Maria Smith, Allie Knott; seven great grandchildren, Alissa Smith, Ashly Smith, Kacy Smith, Emmitt Smith, Jasolynn Smith, Zoie Smith, Sophia Smith; sister, Frances Albanese; brother, Mike and Deb Darden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The gathering of family and friends was held Monday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Rosary was at 7:30pm. Funeral Services were held 11:00am Tuesday July 30, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, LaGrange, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul, in care of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 200 LaFayette Parkway, LaGrange, GA. 30241.
