Jamey was born on December 18, 1972, to his parents Gerald and Sally Vaughan. He graduated from Americus High School in 1991 and attended Georgia Southwestern College where he received an associate’s degree. Jamey had a long career in the lighting industry, which included Cooper Lighting, Lithonia/Acuity Brand Lighting, and most recently with Leedarson America Inc. as a Senior Sales Analyst.
In 2020, Jamey married his wife Wendy Vaughan in Downtown Newnan during an intimate ceremony held at Greenville Street Park. They would celebrate their anniversary every year at Carillon Beach, FL, where they made friends with several of the locals and enjoyed playing pool, karaoke, and sunsets on the beach.
In his past time, Jamey loved to be around his family and friends, hosting tailgates for both the Georgia Bulldogs and softball games, grilling aka “The Grill Master,” making dad jokes, swapping and wearing funny t-shirts with friends, attending his daughter’s softball games, attending his son’s football and lacrosse games, break dancing, enjoying Keno with Wendy and all of his RPM family, sitting outside by the fire, cuddling and playing with his fur babies, but most of all, he loved being able to dote and love on all of his family.
Jamey was a wonderful father, husband, and friend, and was often described as having a vibrant personality, he never met a stranger. He was truly loved by all and had the biggest heart. He was a caretaker to those around him and would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it.
Jamey is survived by his wife Wendy Lyn Vaughan, his daughter Rachel Vaughan and future son-in-law Jake Smith, his son Brookins Vaughan, his two stepchildren, Lauren and Griffin Poole, his sister Jodi Vaughan, his two half-brothers, Blaine and Justin Vaughan, his “bonus mom” Madelyn Hutcheson, “bonus aunt” Lauren Overton, “bonus dad” Ronald Hutcheson, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded by his parents Gerald Richard Vaughan and Sally Louise Etheridge, his sister Johnna Vaughan Harris and brother Gerald “Jay” Vaughan Jr., his stepfather Ronald “Ronnie” Etheridge, and his stepmother Carol Vaughan.
