Janet Green Houser

Mrs. Houser was born December 17, 1928 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Richard Lester Green and Maudie Bell Fargason Green. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square. For many years, she was active in the Merry Maker’s and the Troup County Senior Center. Janet was always there when her family needed her and shared with them her deep love of the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Val H. Houser, Jr; daughter, Janis Prophitt Pillivant; brother, Larry Green; and a sister, Doris G. Peters.

Survivors include her children, Judy and Derek Jones, Jack Houser, and Johnny and Kim Houser; grandchildren, Jeff and Deena Simmons, LeaAnne and Chapin Warner, Tim Houser, Ian Correll, Adam Jones, Amanda Jones, Anna Marie Jones, and Jana Houser; great-grandchildren, Kyle Simmons, Taylor Lindley, Kayla Simmons, Ashley Warner, and Kayden Correll; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Tharp and Connie Houser; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at First Baptist Church on the Square with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Hillview East Cemetery.

The family will gather at the funeral home to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the First Baptist Church on the Square (Meals-On-Wheels) 100 Broad St., LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Janet Green Houser.
