

Born on June 3, 1945, in Laurens, SC. Mike was the son of the late C.J. Patton and Vivian Boyd Patton. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by integrity, service, and an unwavering commitment to his family, his faith, and his community.
Mike was the proud founder and owner of Mike Patton Auto Family, dedicating more than 50 years to the automobile industry. Since 1973, the dealerships have remained family-owned and operated, reflecting Mike’s belief that business should be rooted in integrity, relationships, trust, and hard work. His leadership and vision left a lasting mark not only on his company but also on the countless employees, customers, and colleagues who became part of his extended family over the decades.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Mike was a devoted member of First Baptist Church on the Square for more than 50 years. He faithfully served as a deacon, participated in the Men’s Bible Study, and found great joy in serving others, including delivering meals through Meals on Wheels. His church was not simply a place of worship but a cornerstone of his life and values.
Mike was also deeply committed to the well-being of his broader community. He served on the board of Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center (formerly West Georgia Health System) and held leadership roles in the automotive and financial sectors, including serving as President of the Georgia Automobile Dealers Association. He also served on the boards of various banks, always offering steady guidance, thoughtful leadership, and a reputation for fairness and integrity.
Above all else, Mike was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Thomas Patton; his brother-in-law, Jerry Lynn Campbell; and his children: Christian James (Kim) Patton, Brian Mark (Julie) Patton, David Andrew (Lauren) Patton, Steven Thomas (Lucy) Steinberg, and Laurie Ann (Ben) Crawford.
He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Nathan (Maggie), Catherine (Grayson), Maddie, Luke, Andy, Alli, Katie, Sadie, Lilah, Caroline (Andrew), Bo, Wade, and Ann Thomas, as well as a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sisters, Rachel Patton Horton and Martha Patton Campbell.
Those who knew Mike will remember his steady presence, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. He led with humility, loved without reservation, and lived a life that reflected his deep commitment to God, family, and community. His legacy will continue through the family he cherished, the businesses he built, and the countless lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at First Baptist Church On The Square in LaGrange, Georgia, on February 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue, starting at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to, Wellstar West Georgia Hospice, or Meals on Wheels.
