Loved and appreciated Regina! Karen, Jonathan, Susannah and I had lunch with her 3 summers ago in Georgia when Jonathan was playing in an AAU tournament! Sweet reunion and fellowship from years of friendship! Will see her again one day for a greater reunion and fellowship time because of Christ!

I have some good memories of her when I was younger. I choose to think about those special memories we shared together as a family when my dad and her were still together. She was a short little woman with a commanding Voice, who did not like me chewing gum. She enjoyed smoking with the windows down. Her favorite sayings were: " your guess is as good as mine!" And "you'll get over it!" She loved my dad and was a faithful and loyal wife to him.  She was the first one at the baseball field when I got hit in the head by a softball and needed stiches. She was very calming and held my hand the entire time . She stayed with me when I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery and had to have a full open cut across my stomach. She waited on me and helped me to get well.. She was at my son's birth waiting patiently for her chance to hold him.  She was at my wedding always letting my mother take center stage, and that had to be hard.  She had dogs named Princess and Misty. She worked from a very young age in the federal Government under Social Security. I loved when she made a Veg All casserole.  She was a good listener to me when I was a teenager. She called The Grand, "Mrs. Bearden" her whole entire life! I loved to visit her parents house on the pond when I was younger. Gramps and Grany Dell always made me feel very welcome in their house. Regina's mom made a killer Cream Cheese Cake. Regina had the arm of a football player. She once burned dad's shirt with and iron, and ran and threw the iron at least 25 feet. She loved to buy stiletto 👠 heels of every color!! She had her hair cut very Short, and it was black as night. She drove a Big Red Truck. She loved to watch old Western TV shows. This Chapter of my stepmother Regina has officially closed! Thanks for the memories Regina. Thank you for helping me grow into an adult. I wish you lots of love and happiness in the next life.

Regina and I worked closely together from 2004 to 2015. We were more than just co-workers, we were friends.  She was such a positive presence in my life. Regina and I loved and respected each other.  She would often know what I was thinking before I said it.  Regina loved her job and it was evident by how she carried out her duties.  I can say that she took care of all our needs at SSA, Winston Salem. She often went above and beyond her duties at work.  Regina would call when on vacation, to see if she should come back early. She was always that listening ear, that I needed. My husband passed unexpectantly on  March 9, 2008.  Regina was right there checking on me at work and home. She believed it was one of her unassigned duties to ensure I ate something every day.  Regina had met all four of my sons and had their phone numbers.  She reminded me often that she would call them and report that I was not eating or working too much.  She was not joking because when my sons would stop by the office to check on me, she would share her concerns about me with them.  I know that all the attention that I received from Regina was because she loved and cared dearly about me.  Regina loved God, her family, Prissy, and her friends. We spoke often about our faith and how God wanted us to be good Christians and do the right thing.  We both came from Christian families.  Regina has gone home. I rejoice with all of you, as heaven welcomes such a beautiful and loving soul home.  John 6:47 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. There are no words that can express my sadness over the loss of my dearest friend Regina. She was a generous caring person who would go out of her way to help anyone who was in need. I met her in 1991 when I started at Social Security and boy did she scare me!  She knew her job and she wanted things done the right way and she was not shy about letting you know that!  She taught me so much and we eventually made a great team.  She loved her little dog Prissy and she came to love my cats too ( if she was pretending I never caught on). She was always ready to hunt down a great pocketbook or shoe sale and we had plenty of fun shopping. But most importantly, Regina loved the Lord and knew Christ as her Savior. And that’s why it gives me comfort in my sadness to know she is in the presence of God and no longer suffering or in pain. (II Corinthians 5:8).  Because of covid I was not able to see her since Dec of  2019.  She did not like taking pictures but I made her take the picture above on that last visit.   We kept in touch everyday and had planned to see each other this Summer.  Regina gave me a bracelet engraved with  this saying: “A true friendship is a journey without an end.”   So, this is just a temporary separation because I know that we will be together once again when we all get truly “home”.

Regina and I were friends for many years, we lived on the 3rd floor at Abbotts Creek .She was a customer of mine and a very dear friend, I have missed her since she and Prissy moved to Georgia but she will always be in my 💜 she was a very special lady.I’m so glad to have known her, she was a blessing in my life 💗💞😢💔😻😻😼my boys and I send our deepest condolences!!!
