After marrying an American serviceman in Linz, Austria, she immigrated to the United States in 1948. She became an American citizen in 1949. She moved to Hilton Head in 1972 and worked very successfully for many years at Sea Pines Plantation as the Retail Buyer for their multiple pro-shops.

Notably, she also represented the United States at an international women’s amateur event in Colombia, South America. She played tennis, enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking delicious German dishes for her family. She loved nothing more than having her friends and family visit. As a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church on Hilton Head, she volunteered at the Holy Family Food Pantry for many years.
