Roy Wayne Butts

Wayne was born August 24, 1940 in Pine Mountain, Georgia, where he was a lifelong resident and proud farmer. He retired from Iron Worker Union Local 387 in which he was a welder for more than thirty years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, JoAnn Thrash Butts; a daughter, Dathney Martin; a great granddaughter, Autaum Benefield; his parents, Roy and Ermanie Butts.

Survivors include his children, Kristie (Robert) Graham and Chuck (Michelle) Butts all from Pine Mountain. Grandchildren include Jake Galyon, Trevor Galyon, Chloe Galyon, Holly Benefield, Ryan Martin, Ashley Martin, Dusty Butts, and Jordan Butts as well as numerous great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral will be held 11a.m. Monday, July 18th at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ellis Freeman officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016.
