Annie May Bostick, age 82, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, February 12, 2021. May was born February 9, 1939 to Willis Venable, Sr. and Alzina Babineaux Venable.
May was a life long resident of Lake Charles. She was an active member of the Loving Hands group at her beloved Tom Hebert Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Blue Birds. May was known as the “camera lady” at every function she attended and was sure to put a huge smile on your face as she wound and snapped her disposable camera in your direction. May was a devoted mother, sister, and friend, who had a passion for dancing to cajun and country music and was know for zooming around Lake Charles with her friends and loved ones dancing in her car to her favorite music.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Leon Shane Higginbotham and wife Sybil of Many; Rocky Allen Bostick of Grand Lake; a daughter, Tammy Ellen Broussard and husband David of Lake Charles; a bother, Willis Venable, Jr. and wife Katie of Orange, TX., five grandchildren, Shayne Inness and wife Ashley of Naples, FL., Jedediah Higginbotham of Many, Jasmyn Marcel of Lake Charles, and Zyna "Nikki" Higginbotham of Lake Chalres., six great grandchildren, Lucus and William Marcel of Houma, Silas and Margo Carey of Austin, TX., and Luke Dugas and Jheta Harvey of Lake Charles., and a VERY special family friend Bobby Howard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Gene "Pop" Bostick; son, Willis James Higginbotham; brothers LeRoy and Dudley Venable; sisters, Bernice Thibodeaux, Margaret Griffin, Annie Bang, and Agnes Griffin; and granddaughter Heidi Broussard.
Visitation services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, February 19, 2021 beginning at 9:00 am until the time of services. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 12:00 pm. Interment will be immediately following at Highland Memory Gardens.
