

Betty Lee Woolman Perkins, 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in a local care center. She was born in Port Arthur, TX, lived in Moss Bluff and was a member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Perkins and her late husband, Sonny, were married for 55 years, and owned and operated Sonny's Mini Mart in Moss Bluff for over 25 years. Mrs. Perkins was also a graduate of Lake Charles High School and was a member of the Kilties. She was a Calcasieu Parish Notary for 35 years and a property manager. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and her grandchildren were the love of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Sara Whitaker; son, Larry Perkins and wife, Connie of Moss Bluff; 4 grandchildren, Rev. Len Whitaker II and wife, Shelley of Egan, LA, Waylon Whitaker and wife, Christy of Ragley, LA, Christopher Perkins and Fiance, Alison Tolar of Houston, TX, Katie Perkins of Baton Rouge, LA; 4 great grandchildren, Kendall Whitaker, Destani Whitaker, Dawson Whitaker, and Trace Whitaker. Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church. Rev. Murrell Ewing, Rev. Lenford Whitaker and Rev. Mark Culton will officiate. Burial will be in Old Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Friday at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and will resume Saturday morning, at the church from 10 a.m. til the service.
