Charles Wade Hannon

Charles Wade Hannon, age 86, passed away surrounded by family at his home in Lake Charles, LA on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Charles was born on November 30, 1936 in Evangeline, LA to George Hannon and Mabel LeBert. He grew up in Evangeline and graduated high school in the class of '57. Upon graduation, Charles joined the Army and served our country for several years. He then moved to Lake Charles, LA in 1963, where he met Ramona Dubard and they married in 1965.
He worked as an operator for Cities Service for 25 years. Charles was a member of Sweetlake Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and metalworking to make toys for children.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mabel Hannon; sisters, Betty Miller and Margarette Tucker; and daughter Donna Sorrells.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Hannon; son Michael and wife Amy Hannon; and son-in-law Johnny Sorrells.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 4th, 2023, at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of services. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a graveside service at Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mel Yorks with First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles will be officiating at the services.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hannon, Johnny Sorrells, Dwayne Dubard, Devin Dubard, Robert LeBlanc, and Eddie LeBlanc.
