Cynthia was a resident of Lake Charles and Bunkie for most of her life before moving to Hayes over twenty years ago. She had a passion for shopping, collecting jewelry, and gardening. Cynthia will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and loving person who shared her warmth with everyone she met.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lonnie Borne; children, Willie Maddox, Jr. and wife Kate, Todd Maddox and wife Brooke and Aaron Maddox; grandchildren, Logan Maddox and Morgan Maddox; sister, Marcia Mott; step-sons, Nicholas Borne and Jacob Borne; and step-grandchildren, Talyn, Dade, and Kolton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Crocker Scott Cassell, Sr. and Verlie Manuel Cassell; first husband, Willie E. "DeDox" Maddox, Sr. siblings, Crocker Scott Cassell, Jr. and Cathy Cassell Brunet; and brother-in-law, Chris Borne.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday, January 26, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be immediately following at Highland Memory Gardens. Pastor Chris Walker will officiate at the services.
