She is preceded in death by her parents, Dolores Martha Cantrell and Darnell Brown; one older sister, Janet Tatum.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a fabulous cook and often entertained family and friends in her home. In her early years she worked for John Frankenheimer, one of the great producers of his time. In her professional life she was an accountant for the legal field, architecture and interior design. She was a kind and resolute woman who gave generously and loved freely. She enjoyed hosting grand events for holidays and opera concerts for her daughter. Donna loved to watch movies, listen to her daughter sing, cook, garden and spend quality time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory and carry on her flare are one son; Sean Ezra Brown (Becky) of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter Shannon Martin of Lake Charles LA; two sisters, Pam Dowalby (Richard) of Downey, CA and Joni Jackson (Lloyd) of Lancaster, California; four grandchildren; Ashley (Richard) Montoya of Austin, TX; Alexis Brown and Anthony Ezeakunne both of Los Angeles, CA; Nadine Martin of Lake Charles, LA; and three great grandchildren, Caleb, Rosalie and Owen Montoya of Austin, TX.
Visitation will be Saturday January 5, 2019 from 5 to 7pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Services to be held on Sunday January 6, 2019 at 1pm with burial to follow at Prien Memorial Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
A memorial service will be held at the home of Rochelle (Robert) Baker of Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2 to 7pm.
