Ella Mae Rose Venable

She was born in Iota and lived in Lake Charles. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she worked in the children’s ministries and served on the ladies prayer council at the church and was involved in a ministry sending cards to all she knew remembering them for birthdays and other important

occasions. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who never met a stranger.

She is survived by her son, Calvin Venable, Sr. and wife Debbie of Port Gibson, Ms; daughter, Kathy Fontenot and husband Louis of Lake Charles; brothers, Harry Rose, Jr. and wife Elsie of Basile; Jimmy Rose and wife Gladys of Baton Rouge; Carlon Rose, Sr. and wife Audrey of Evangeline; sister, Jane Meche of Denham Springs; four

grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Her services will be Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. Wayne Dartez will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service. Burial will follow at Creel Cemetery at Camp Pearl. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
