George Hoover West

George was born February 22, 1929 in Singer, LA to Bill and Lanie West and was one of seven children. He worked and part owned Lago Industries, building equipment. He spent most of his time living in Venezuela and later moved to Uvalde. He enjoyed gambling, music, traveling and working.

He was preceded in death by parents Bill and Lanie West, two wives; Marcia Mae West and Patsy Ruth West, two brothers; John Henry West and Sam West, and one sister; Lillian Dooley.

Those left to cherish his memories is one son; Darren West and wife Julia of Kansas, two daughters; Georgia Hendy and husband Willam and Theresa West of South America, three step children; Wayne Lebert and wife Pam of Lake Charles, Terry Lebert of Baton Rouge and Cindy Lebert of Tennessee, one brother; Joe West of DeQuincy, two sisters; Analois Sprickland of Gainesville, TX and Mona Lutz of Palm Springs, CA. along with 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. West was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be 4:00pm Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, La with a Visitation one hour prior to service.
