Gloria K. Brown

Mrs. Brown was born in Lake Charles and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High class of 1941 where she was one of the members of the original Kilties. She was an avid bridge player and she and her husband loved traveling mostly abroad. She and her husband enjoyed boating for many years and were members of the Lake Charles Sail and Power Squadron. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Lake Charles. Mrs. Brown was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years Roy S. Brown Jr. of Lake Charles, a son Steve Brown and wife Jill of Lake Charles, A daughter Nancy Brown Tugwell and husband Gordon of Lake Charles, 5- Grandchildren, Allison Brown, Stephen Brown, Michael Tugwell, Melissa Tugwell and Matthew Tugwell. She also is survived by her niece Dianne Miller and her husband Buz who thought of her aunt as a second mother.

Funeral services will be at 3:00PM Sunday in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles the Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 5:00PM till 8:00PM and resume Sunday at 1:00PM till service time. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Stephen Brown, Michael Tugwell, Matthew Tugwell, Mike Duhon, Troy Duhon, and Jay Buehner.
